Why is Food Storage so Necessary?

Here we are living each day with our “to do” list, pick up the dry cleaning, stop by the market for extra items for Friday night’s dinner, drop the kids off at practice, call so and so about this or that, need we say more? It’s a busy life. We hear of disasters in distant lands on the news, and feel sad for those people. And then, we turn and continue with our busy, busy lives. Let’s just stop for a moment and consider what would happen if a disaster or hardship arrived at our doors. Would the food in our cupboards be enough? What does having enough even look like? At what point do we decide food storage is a necessary requirement for survival preparedness?

Having food storage can and will lessen the concern of “what do we do now”? Imagine yourself in two situations-1) going to your food storage supplies and retrieving items to feed your family or 2) having nothing stored away but the few items in your cupboard and wondering how long can I make this last? Which scenario would you prefer? It may not be a natural disaster that comes knocking at your door, but rather the loss of employment that puts you in the same position, if you plan ahead you will be prepared.

It is wonderful to know that you can feed your family comfortably during stressful times, so that you can administer to other concerns that may require your attention as well. There is no price for peace of mind in these situations, you either have it or you don’t. Having food storage in times of stress will bring peace of mind to you and your family. It’s one less thing to worry about
